Project overview

POWERINSIDE™ is a Youth Strength Academy in Palatine, Illinois — a structured strength-training system for boys and girls 10–18. The program is led by Sergii Ryzhuk, Honored Coach of Ukraine (2002), coach of the Ukrainian national powerlifting teams, international-category referee, mentor to European and World champions and record-holders.

The launch needed a website that did one job perfectly: convince Palatine-area parents that this is a serious, safe and methodologically right program for their kids — and get them to register a child for the next intake.

Why hand-coded

No WordPress, no Astro, no SPA. The whole site is hand-written HTML, CSS, and a few hundred lines of vanilla JS — chosen deliberately.

The reasoning:

  • One landing page, one conversion, no editorial workflow → CMS overhead would be pure cost.
  • Mobile-first audience (parents scrolling Instagram, opening links on a phone) → lighter is better.
  • Long-term hosting cost: a static folder behind a CDN, nothing to update, no plugin churn.

The result is a site that ships ~70 KB of HTML/CSS and a small JS payload, paints the hero in well under a second on 4G, and scores high on Core Web Vitals out of the box.

My role in the project

I personally worked on this project end to end. The areas I owned and delivered directly:

  • The hand-coded-over-CMS decision and the reasoning behind it
  • The full hand-written HTML / CSS / vanilla-JS implementation (~70 KB payload)
  • Single-conversion funnel design around the intake registration
  • Registration form with validation and the Web3Forms backend
  • Performance tuning: sub-second hero paint on 4G, high Core Web Vitals out of the box

What I built

  • Cinematic hero with the “Strength is built on discipline” headline and a single, unmissable “Apply now” CTA.
  • Five-pillar program block (Technique / Discipline / Development / Analysis / Competition) — the academy’s training philosophy, one card per pillar with custom photography.
  • “Who it’s for” + “What we guarantee” + “Training schedule” trio, side-by-side on desktop, stacked on phone.
  • Coach profile section for Sergii Ryzhuk — portrait, three highlighted credentials, full bio bullets.
  • Photo strip from real training sessions (no stock).
  • Competition focus block (local / national / international tournaments).
  • FAQ for the predictable parent questions: starting age, safety, prior experience, weekly frequency.
  • Registration form with parent + child fields, validation, Web3Forms backend, and a privacy-line under the submit.
  • Footer with address, social links, copyright, and “Website by Alexey Kachan Agency” credit.

Outcomes

  • Single-page architecture that can be edited by hand in any text editor — the founder owns the source.
  • Static delivery via a CDN — zero monthly hosting bill from a CMS, zero security patches to chase.
  • A funnel built around one decision: register a child for the next intake on June 15.
